Tell us about where you studied and some of your highlights and favourite lecturers.
I studied at Vega School. A stand-out facet of my experience was how practical much of the work was. Amid my studies, I had a part-time job where I often seamlessly integrated my academic learnings and professional deliverables.
What weird and wonderful things are you obsessed with right now that inspires your creative work?
I have an eclectic aesthetic taste in general, so my reach of inspiration feels incredibly broad, abundant and dynamic. Also, I bleeping love nature. I'll always be obsessed with my relationship with the natural world. I enjoy taking cues from the majestic ways that nature makes itself known.
Favourite travel destinations that inspire you?
I'm drawn to destinations with incredible nature and/or rich cultural significance. So, of course, South Africa is number one! I'm biased, but I absolutely think we deserve the hype. Lately, I've also had my eyes on Morocco and the Latin American region. On some level, it's for the aesthetic appeal, but intuitively, I know it's deeper than that. I imagine I'll be in constant awe while traversing these locations.
Tell us about your tools / what tech, programs, equipment and environment do you do your best work in?
Simplified, my best work is usually the combined outputs of my laptop + Adobe Creative Suite + Pinterest + pen + paper + some human interaction. The other tech and programmes just kinda slot in on an as-and-when basis. Environmentally, I thrive somewhere where I can comfortably sit up straight and have the option to put my feet up. I can be sensitive to certain sensory stimuli, so I do my best to manage that as well. Sometimes, I'll throw in a tasty (typically caffeine-free) beverage and perhaps a lil snack.
