When did you fall in love with design and how did you get started?

Actually I didn’t study design. My major is animation. Just before graduation, I took a book making class in basic design class. After that class, I was interested in making my pictures as a book, and I thought that I had to do some design.

What was your plan for graduating and what actually happened?

In order to experience design after graduation, I worked for an underwear company. But the designer was alone, and I did a few short things in a month. After that, it was hard, but I started freelance through the website and it lasted for 5 years. I then created [triangle-studio]. It has been in operation for six years now. In fact, there is not much that has changed at first or now. It is important to stay in this position steadily. But I'm still busy, I still smoke a lot, and I still do not have enough sleep.

Are you involved in any teaching and if so how it shapes your practice?

I do workshops with fellow designers on a regular basis several times a year. Up to now, I have been working on design majors for about 6-7 times. This year we have a workshop in Taiwan and another workshop in November. It is usually a form of creating a poster by randomly selecting a few keywords. [WKSP WKSP] is active under the name.

What three naughty things have you done in your career to get ahead?

Designed for clients only, habitual design, hasty design. In fact, most of the cases come from the lack of time. However, it is a fact that Korean designers are not always given much time. I think it is important not to fall into mannerism including schedule management.

Design reflects contemporary life and also leads the future direction.

What career advice would you give your 16yr old self?

Experience a lot of things to see, hear, and read. A variety of learning and experience will make the way to be a designer.

Where do you think design is heading in the next five years and how will you adapt?

Design reflects contemporary life and also leads the future direction. The work of the generation that has experienced digital since birth is increasingly on the market, and in contrast to the design of 2010, which was the result of minimal design, bold and original design has attracted attention recently. It is true that designers born after the year 2000 are expected to have more innovative designs as they are added to the design scene. Maybe I should try harder.
