We chat with the Founders of Studio Etc, Eilon & Eyal, about how they met and how the studio was born; they explain how they aim to break the pattern of traditional branding, and we hear about some of their favourite designers in Tel Aviv!
How did you name your practice and what does the name represent to you?
We (Eilon & Eyal) met at "Shenkar College of Engineering and Design" (Israel) about 14 years ago.
Eilon dropped out after less than one semester (some would say one month lol), Eyal kept on going and graduated successfully.
Since then, we kept in touch, each of us doing his own path, working in different studios & freelancing.
About four years ago, we decided to team up together and establish "ETC.", a design agency focusing on lifestyle and leisure brands.
The idea was simple - our clients hold the top-notch finest products in the market and we take care of everything else wrapping it - the etc.'s
Give us the elevator pitch on what you do.
We love to break the pattern of traditional branding, providing our clients with a rich graphic identity. One that can be expressed in different levels, styles, and depths.
Using different graphics elements - multiple logos, typography, photography, illustrations, and colors. we create variety, that still corresponds and works together as part of a bigger language. We believe that in this golden age of social media, a brand needs a wide kit to work with, to show that it keeps on developing and moving forward at all time.
How does the local culture of where you live affect your design work and getting clients?
We are absolutely in love with our city Tel Aviv, an island of sanity for us.
We love the tension and relations between the old and the new, the simple and the complex.
And most of all, we worship the young entrepreneurs that are floating up this city, with innovative ideas and endless vibes that keep on making Tel Aviv such a great place to live in.

Where do you think design is heading in the next five years and how will you adapt?
We honestly have no clue but plan to keep on traveling, exploring and learning something new every day.
