We chat with C100 Studio Founder, Christian Hundertmark about his typical working day (which includes way too much non-design tasks), working hard (!!), and his fun art project, LAYER CAKE, with graffiti buddy Patrick Hartl
What are some of your earliest creative memories and what lead you into design?
My first creative memory was eating a sandwich in bed when I was a young toddler and then decorating the walls with my greasy fingertips

What does a typical working day include for you right now?
Nothing special. A typical working day includes too much non-design communication (emails/phone calls) while I wished I had more time to work on all these wonderful projects which I couldn’t reject as they seemed to be way too interesting to decline them. Meanwhile sending stuff to the printer and writing proposals. Business as usual.
What career advice would you give your 16yr old self?
Hard work beats talent! WORK HARD! Nothing comes for granted.
What have been some of your biggest disasters and how have you learnt from it?
Hard drive crash one day before the print deadline of a 280 pages book. Almost jumped out of the window.
Tell us about any collaborations you have been working on.
My latest collaborations is not design but art, which were my roots.
Since 2016 I joined forces with my former graffiti buddy Patrick Hartl, who is a calligraffiti ambassador. As LAYER CAKE we paint canvases, paint murals and have art shows.
Brought back a lot of fun to my daily design routine.
