BRIEF: Design a product commonly used outdoors in our natural environment. It should be a practical and innovative product made primarily from plastics, with emphasis on form and function.
TIMELINE: REGISTER by Feb 28th and SUBMIT your entry by March 28th.
ELIGIBILITY: Registration is free and is open to all students registered on UK and Ireland design courses, undergraduate and postgraduate, for the academic year in which the award is taking place.
PRIZES: 1st: £1,000 + Covestro HQ visit; sponsor placement; guest of the Worshipful Company of Horners at their annual banquet at Mansion House, London; a prototype of your invention, and IP support.
2nd: £750
3rd: £500
Highly commended: £250
Subject to availability, each finalist will receive a work placement with one of our sponsors.
BACKGROUND: Established in 1985, Design Innovation In Plastics is now the longest running student plastics design award in Europe. It is an opportunity for design students to make a name for themselves, but also for universities to raise their profile as institutes of excellence in this field.
