Montreal's design scene lives between two languages and thrives in the tension. This is a city where French typographic rigour meets English-speaking irreverence, and the friction produces something neither tradition could generate alone. From the bilingual identity systems of local studios like Lg2 and Paprika to the hand-drawn vernacular of Mile End's independent illustrators, Montreal design is precise and playful, often in the same breath. The city's festival culture keeps a steady demand for visual work that performs at scale. Add the UQAM and Concordia pipelines feeding a perpetually hungry creative scene, and you've got a city that designs like it has something to prove. Which it does.
