A big congrats to Shauna Buckley, one of our 30 TDK Awards’ winners for 2018. A Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology student from Dublin, their work was chosen by Alberto from Tres Tipos Gráficos: “She has a very clean yet strong editorial style, with good composition, very mature text treatment, but also with a very good use of of custom lettering. She also seeks for concept in her projects and focuses a lot on the quality of the content. Nothing is random or just pretty, she makes design with purpose”. We asked Shauna to answer a few questions for next years TDK Awards’ hopefuls.
David Wall, Designer / Director of WorkGroup is a man with his finger on the pulse — not only is he one of the co-founders of TDK fave the 100 Archive he also mentors for the Design and Craft Council, is on the council for IDI and has thought courses at a fair few institutes! It's clear that David continues to challenge himself through out his career—leading by example to his team with the encouragement to never stop learning.
Shauna and Simon are the power duo behind It's Okay—both of them managed hustled their way into the industry before even graduating (Shauna is still studying!) It's Okay has been creating awesomeness over the past two years, they share with us some handy advice for those starting out. Defiantly some peeps to keep your eyes on!
How awesome is this!? While interning and looking to get their foot in the door, these dudes started their own amazing studio. We caught up with one of the founders Andrew McNamee from Post Studio.
We’re honoured to chat to Scott Burnett—partner and creative director of aad. Scott’s a pretty big deal in the design industry and he shares with us some insight into where he sees Irish design heading. Scott is also co-founder of TDK favourite 100archive —check it out!
It is our absolute pleasure to catch up with Annie Atkins. She transformed her career from working in advertising to set design to graphic design for Wes Anderson. She's the master mind behind many of the beautiful graphics you see on the sliver screen. Annie shares how she paved the way to her niche career and some great advice for those starting out.
